Position Overview:
We are looking to hire a Principal Consultant who will be responsible for driving business generation and ensuring successful delivery of search assignments.
As a Principal Consultant, you will be responsible to generate and lead executive search mandates in the BFSI industry, contributing to the firm’s strategic growth. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, leveraging your industry expertise and network to identify and secure top-tier talent for leadership roles.
Reporting to: Practice Founder and Principal
Key Responsibilities:
A) Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the firm’s client base and revenue.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, serving as a strategic advisor for executive / leadership hiring.
- Develop proposals, pitch tailored solutions and negotiate contracts to secure new search mandates.
- Leverage industry networks and market insights to identify emerging trends and growth opportunities.
B) Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, developing and nurturing long-term relationships.
- Partner with clients to understand their leadership/executive talent needs.
- Provide market intelligence and strategic guidance to clients on leadership talent and retention.
C) Search Delivery
- Lead end-to-end executive search assignments, including role scoping, candidate sourcing, assessment and selection.
- Conduct detailed interviews to assess candidates’ qualifications, cultural fit and leadership potential.
- Present curated shortlist of qualified candidates along with comprehensive assessment reports to clients.
D) Team Leadership
- Mentor and guide junior consultants and researchers to ensure seamless mandate execution.
- Foster collaboration across the team to deliver exceptional service and achieve client satisfaction.
- Actively contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives and drive process improvement internally.
E) Market Experience
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscapes and emerging leadership talent.
- Develop thought leadership content and represent the firm at industry events and conferences.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master’s) with 8+ years of experience in executive search.
- Expertise in business development and networking focussed for BFSI industry sector.
- Proven track record of managing high-value client relationships and delivering complex search assignments.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility with C-suite executives in the BFSI Industry.
